Leslie Klinck of Parker, CO is the picture of a corporate executive who "had it all.” She had built a successful corporate career, first for American Airlines then Western Union. She had relocated around the U.S. from Boston to Oklahoma, then to Texas, as a product development executive, growing a six-figure salary as she went.

Yet in 2005 Leslie traded it all in! She did what most people dream about, but they’re too afraid to try. She exited her career to strike out as a small business entrepreneur. She acquired the Decor & You Denver regional franchise, and began a new life in Colorado as an independent business owner in the $2 billion interior design industry.

A Grounded Business Leader Who Reaches High

Leslie has applied her corporate savvy to debut the distinctive Decor & You brand of custom interior decorating services in the Denver region. What’s most gratifying, she says, is the power to help others pursue their dreams. In just three years, Leslie has blanketed Denver with an award-winning design team of 11 design pros, and she serves as their coach, mentor, and design leader.

Leslie has established a supportive network in Colorado that gives each decorator the flexibility to operate independently – but also the security of a team and the sophisticated training and systems of a national organization. "The opportunity in business to think and act on your own dreams and vision is the greatest reward, but the camaraderie and support of the franchise is equally valuable,” advises Leslie.

"Even entrepreneurs have fears to conquer and need coaxing to get out of our comfort zones,” Leslie reveals. The franchise, she says, is designed to get people help in the skill areas they’re missing. "Help is never more than a phone call away,” she adds. Decor & You offers an exceptional program of local, national, and online training, says Leslie. In Colorado, she organizes regular customized training sessions on marketing, lead generation, sales, maximizing the DecorPlan system, and sharing best practices.

People have taken notice of Leslie’s individual initiative and her contributions. Decor & You honored Leslie this year with the 2008 JoAnn Brezette Award for Exceptional Service.

She served a full year on the National Web Site Task Force and played a key role in developing a full-service, interactive Internet presence. Leslie was also tapped to serve on the National Franchisee Advisory Council and the National Sales Focus Group.
